Did you try last year’s dalgona coffee trend a.k.a. whipped coffee? Dalgona coffee is a beverage made by whipping equal proportions of instant coffee powder, sugar, and hot water until it becomes creamy and then adding it to cold or hot milk. I tried it using a few different brands of instant coffee. My favorite wound up being Nescafé’s Café de Olla instant coffee; I found it to be one of the most flavorful. I very rarely enjoy instant coffee so to find one I liked was a pretty exciting moment for me.
Are You Familiar with Café de Olla?
Café de Olla is a Mexican spiced coffee. Unlike most coffee made in a coffee maker, Café de Olla is made in a pot by simmering the ingredients and letting it rest before serving. Traditionally, the pot is made of clay. I think the reason I enjoyed the taste of Nescafé’s Café de Olla instant coffee the best is due to my Hispanic background. Other Unique Ways to Enjoy Your Coffee
I have found that people get pretty creative when it comes to spicing up their morning coffee. Some change it up for cultural reasons, others to simply enjoy something different. Whatever the reason, they can be an inspiration to others. For example, did you know that some people put ice cream in their cup of joe? How cool is that!? I would have never thought to do that. The rich and creamy ice cream boosts the flavor of the coffee and also cools it down. Such a creative alternative to traditional creamers. Some other ideas I found pretty cool were to add vanilla extract or even salt to your coffee! I haven’t tried these variations just yet, but they’re definitely on my to-do list for my next morning brew. You can find all these ideas and more by clicking here.
