Groundcare Landscape is proud to announce that we have been awarded 1st Place for Best Large Residential Landscape Maintenance, and the coveted President's Choice Award for Residential Excellence in Craftsmanship at this year's Landscape Beautification Awards from San Fernando Valley Chapter, part of the California Landscape Contractors Association.
This annual competition bring together Southern California's top landscape contractors to celebrate outstanding achievements in construction, horticulture, maintenance, and design. Competing against industry leaders like Gothic Landscape, Staygreen Landscape, Mariposa Landscape, and Oakridge Landscape. Groundcare Landscape emerged with top honors. This reinforces our reputation among landscape professionals and clients for detail-driven, high-end landscape care.
Award-Winning Project: "Delresto" in Beverly Hills
The recognition was awarded for our work on Delresto, a formal garden nestled in Beverly Hills. We have proudly maintained this prestigious residential property for over a year. We provide a customized seasonal landscape care program in which we rotate gardening tasks during twice-per-week visits.
This curated garden is characterized by its classical layout and meticulous layering of plant materials. Plant placement along with careful irrigation hydrozoning allow natural visual harmony and long-term health. Key elements include:
- Boxwood hedges: Precisely maintained low borders and sculptural topiary forms
- Seasonal Flowering Beds: Westringia, lavender, roses, azaleas, and hydrangeas framed within structured planters
- Edibles: Avocado, citrus salad trees, and vegetable boxes that are pruned and harvested by the homeowner
- Climbing & Privacy Plants: Star jasmine vines on diamond pattern trellises climbing home walls and dense perimeter ficus hedges for home privacy
- Irrigation: Hydrawise controller. Seasonal water budgeting on an expert-configured sprinkler controller promotes plant health.
The property's horticultural complexity and formality requires intentional care. In close collaboration with the homeowner we set topiary size rules and we review the garden together on a quarterly basis. We review routine seasonal garden tasks and also pay close attention to garden ailments like phytopthora, a fungal disease, or underperforming fruit tree growth.
